FRUIT
TROPICAL: Aussie yellow, white, and red dragon fruit are in season, along with fresh North Queensland guavas. Watermelons and rockmelons are great value, with Mini Lee watermelons being especially popular. Pineapples are eating beautifully.
MANGOES: We’re in the late season for Aussie mangoes - KP’s are finished, but Honey Gold (our fave!) and Calypso are still available.
CHERRIES: Exceptional, extra-large Tasmanian cherries in store—fantastic flavour!
GRAPES: Plenty of seasonal grape varieties, including delicious organic red and white grapes.
APPLES & PEARS: New season Royal Gala and Fuji apples are here, along with new season Corella, Nashi, and Williams pears. Organic new season Royal Galas are also available.
BERRIES: Due to the heat, berries are a bit scarce. Strawberries, in particular, don’t have the longest shelf life, but their flavour has been excellent. Organic blueberries are available.
STONE FRUIT: Late summer means plums are the standout - over seven varieties in store this week, all packed with great flavour.
CITRUS: Limes are great value, but lemons are scarce. Finger limes are available. Locally grown Valencia oranges are in, but Aussie navels are out of season.
FIGS: Now flushing!
ORGANIC: Organic apricots and Valencia oranges are available this week.
VEGETABLES
TOMATOES: Truss tomatoes are great value, and big heirloom tomatoes are eating beautifully.
ASPARAGUS: Aussie asparagus is still in season but becoming scarce.
AVOCADO: Reed & Shepherd avocados are in season and tasting great. Not the best time for Hass.
RECOMMENDED / GREAT VALUE: Cucumbers and cauliflower are top picks this week.
SCARCE: Celery and all cabbage varieties are in short supply.
GARLIC: Aussie garlic, both regular and organic, is in season.
POTATOES: Sweet potatoes are excellent valIt'sIt's the perfect time for lighter, salad-friendly varieties like Kipflers and Cocktail potatoes.
FLOWERS: Local dahlias are in bloom, along with flowering gum and Banksias.
