The Mart Delicatessen, located at the Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets for over 40 years, is one of Canberra’s gourmet food destinations. With a huge range of cheese, charcuterie, fresh pasta, antipasto, fresh meat, poultry and groceries, the Mart Deli is your one stop shop for beautiful food.

The Mart Deli is widely acknowledged as Canberra’s premier cheese destination. With an extensive range of local and imported cheeses, the Mart Deli prides itself on continually updating its range with what is seasonally at its peak and those cheeses winning awards around the country. There are some wonderful Australian cheeses in store created by artisan producers like Woodside, Red Hill, Yarra Valley, Udder Delights and Pyengana. Other great Australian producers always in stock are Tarago, Meredith, Milawa and Heidi, to name a few.

Imported cheeses are also well represented with a leaning towards the wonderful French cheeses. Depending on what is at its best, you can find such delights as Delice De Bourgogne, Epoisses, Clarines and of course, Roquefort. The Mart Delicatessen also stocks a beautiful range of traditional French goats’ cheeses with Crottin and Sainte Maure being amongst the popular choices. Also in range are perennial European favourites like Swiss Appenzeler, French Raclette and Emmental, full flavoured washed rinds like Reblochon and Pont l’eveque and robust English Stilton and cheddars. With knowledgeable staff and a lovely range of accompaniments to compliment your cheese platter, the Mart Delicatessen prides itself on being a ‘capital’ cheese destination.

The Mart Deli is always adding to its range so it is easy for you to find those wonderful new products that the chefs are using or that you are reading about in gourmet magazines. Recent additions include the beautiful La Boqueria artisan Spanish charctuerie, delicious San Marino small goods and That’s Amore fresh curd cheeses including buffalo mozzarella and fior di burrata. The seasonally available fresh black truffles are also a hit with Canberra’s gourmands.

The great range of fresh pasta is a beautiful choice for a quick family meal or when entertaining. There are also plenty of pasta sauces and parmesans to accompany your delicious pasta meal. All of your antipasto requirements are also in store with a great range of local and imported olives, semi dried tomatoes and other antipasto delights. Why not grab a fresh pizza base, some antipasto and a couple of bocconcini for a delicious and easy Friday night dinner.

The Mart Deli stocks an extensive range of charcuterie including beautiful Barossa hams, sausages and salami, La Boqueria and San Marino salami and beautiful Jamon and San Danielle prosciutto. Of course we also stock the usual gourmet suspects like fresh duck & poultry, vinegars, olive oils, French butters, ricotta and Herbie’s Spices. Our chocolate range is also steadily growing including Lindt and Callebaut for your baking requirements and the beautiful handmade Lindsay & Edmunds chocolates. We also have a lovely range of fresh breads including the famous Bread Nerds bagels, the beautiful Italian loaves from Dom and the delicious Autolyse sourdoughs.

Our little cafe offers a great place to stop and check off your shopping list. Why not grab a coffee, some homemade cake or a freshly made roll and have a rest before tackling the rest of the Fyshwick Markets. However, with the friendly and knowledgeable staff and the extensive gourmet range, the Mart Deli is a great place to start.
